Editorial Abstract: The introduction of digital television is a challenge even for states that are far more advanced in comparison to BiH. However, this is a task that Bosnia and Herzegovina must face and the task needs to be completed in the upcoming few years. A strategic approach to introducing digital television and the phasing out of existing analogue television is a complex process defined by a series of factors such as the size of the TV market, international obligations and agreements, technical preconditions, such as for e.g. the accessibility of cable or satellite television, the distribution of digital television receivers, models of financing etc. Until recently, BiH was quite behind other EU countries and the region. However, during the past few years, important steps have been undertaken to make possible the introduction of digital TV on time. However, BiH faces many problems, obstacles and challenges that must be solved in order for this process to end successfully and for BiH not to remain the only analogue island in the world of digital TV that is rapidly developing all around us.
